Working together for the planet

The textile industry places a heavy burden on our planet. Globally, it is responsible for 20% of water pollution, and 10% of all CO2 emissions. Additionally, 65% of materials used in textiles are derived from fossil fuels. The industry therefore contributes heavily to climate change, depletes underground water reserves, and contributes to a loss of biodiversity. That's why our Planet Ally merch is made by a new type of textile company. We have started a collaboration with Nil Textile; a company that is rooted in the circular economy.

Pro planetu TASKA | Why you should choose "CIRCULAR" clothing?

Currently, only 1% of clothing is being recycled into new clothes, with an astonishing 92 million tons of clothing being sent to landfills every year. The resources required to create those textiles makes the textile industry the fourth largest consumer of our planet’s natural, irreplaceable, resources.

Nil Textile goes against the trend. They have launched a fully circular textile solution. Nil is dedicated to the entire lifecycle of each garment, and strives to ensure that none of their products ever ends up as waste. Therefore their clothes not only come from recycled materials, but are also fully recyclable. To that end, all products created by Nil can be returned to them when the customer is finished with them. Nil takes the returned clothing, recycles the materials, and turns them into new garments of the same quality they were originally. Nil Textile can do this because of their innovative technology. This new technology reduces emissions by up to 75%, reduces water use by up to 98%, and aims to entirely eliminate textile waste.

Nil Textile is also entirely produced by ethical means in the Czech Republic. This not only achieves a radically low environmental impact, but also means that they are not contributing to the creation of social inequalities. All production takes place under fair conditions, is gentle on the planet and is fully transparent.
